MAY
In ATP Math, students will be finishing up their geometry unit on area and volume. The students will then take their knowledge of solving one-step equations and inequalities, and apply it towards solving multi-step equations and inequalities that involve combining like terms, variables on both sides, and the distributive property.
In Math Connects, students will be finishing up their pre-Algebra unit, and then begin a unit on integers. Students will learn how to identify integers, compare/order them, find their opposite and absolute values, and translate situations into integers.

APRIL
In ATP Math, students will be finishing their unit on rates, ratios, and proportions. They have been expressing ratios using different forms, calculating rates and unit rates, and solving real-world problems using proportions and percents. In addition, students will begin working on a geometry unit. They will calculate the area of rectangles, parallelograms, triangles, and trapezoids and be able to find a missing dimension when the area is given.
In Math Connects, students are working on a Pre-Algebra unit. They are working on various properties, combining like terms, identifying different components of an algebraic expression, and solving one-step equations using whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. In addition, they will learn how to interpret, write, solve, and graph inequalities.

March
In ATP Math, students are finishing their unit on positive and negative fractions and mixed numbers. Then they will begin a unit on solving and writing single-step algebraic equations and inequalities that involve rational numbers.

December
ATP Math students will be covering a unit on integers. The unit will include comparing/ordering, absolute/opposite value, the coordinate plane, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, powers, order of operations, and evaluating algebraic expressions.
In Math Connects, students will be covering a unit on whole numbers. This unit will include comparing/ordering, divisibility rules, prime/composite numbers, powers, square roots, rounding, multiplying, and dividing.

OCTOBER
In ATP Math, students will take their knowledge of integers and apply them to powers, the order of operations, writing/evaluating algebraic expressions, and function tables. In addition, students will be working on properties, combining like terms, solving algebraic equations/inequalities, and graphing inequalities.
In Math Connects, students will be covering prime and composite numbers, prime factorization, the order of operations, writing/evaluating algebraic expressions and function tables. In addition, students will be working on factors/multiples and multiplying/dividing fractions and mixed numbers.
